Northland Transportation Alliance

road

The Northland Transportation Alliance is a joint initiative of the New Zealand Transport Agency, Northland Regional Council, Far North, Kaipara and Whangarei District Councils.

Its goals include

  • improving regional strategy, planning and procurement
  • improving transport and customer outcomes, enabling investment and social opportunities
  • making transport infrastructure more affordable.

A key tool to deliver on these goals is the formation of a shared service business unit that draws together resources from across the constituent councils. Morrison Low is working alongside the manager of the Northland Transportation Alliance to develop and then implement the optimum service delivery model for the business unit.

The Alliance and the project itself have the potential to deliver significant benefits to the Northland region. Our work draws on the depth of our technical and operational expertise and our understanding of service delivery models, but also on the 'softer skills' that are required to implement change.
