Morrison Low has a long history of supporting Australian councils obtain regional development grants through competitive processes. It is a long established practice there for funding rural and regional councils and meeting their economic, social and infrastructure challenges.
We’ve learnt how important it is for councils to prioritise their needs and any applications to ensure that what’s best for the community over the long term is considered. Capital grants for new infrastructure impose long term costs on communities.
The councils we’ve worked alongside have won funding for projects ranging from roads, railways and airports, intermodal terminals, town centre improvements, community facilities, cycleways and creating new tourism infrastructure and attractions.
Our support has ranged from analysing, developing the strategies and the feasibility of individual projects right through to assistance in writing the detailed business case and economic assessment and the application.
