It’s time for a 2018-2028 Long Term Plan debrief

Home About4

Are you relieved that the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan process is over?

Did the process go well, were there clear timeframes and deliverables or was it more ad hoc?

Did your key staff understand the process?

Now is the time to hold a 2018-2028 Long Term Plan debriefing session.  A debriefing workshop is an opportunity to discuss what went well and what could be done better in order to be better prepared for the next Long Term Plan in 2021.

Feedback from councils that we have completed a debriefing session with is that they found the process very helpful.

Key benefits you will get from a debriefing session:

  • An opportunity to improve asset management capability and capacity
  • Clarity on the level of staff understanding of the Long Term Plan processes
  • Greater understanding of what you need to support the next Long Term Plan e.g. information, dependencies with other departments such as finance and strategic planning, particularly as it relates to your 30 year Infrastructure Strategy
  • Recommendations for planning for the next Long Term Plan and Infrastructure Strategy
